This week, we read The Patchwork Quilt. While reading, we worked on making predictions and drawing conclusions.
Next week, we will read Science Magic. This story presents several science experiments. Students will practice reading directions and identifying steps in a process. (3LA8, 29)
Language Arts:
Next week, we will continue to work on editing and revising in Writers Workshop. These are important skills for young writers to learn about. Eventually, we will be able to edit each others stories! (3LA44-50)

Science:
Next week in Science, we will continue to study rocks and minerals. We will be exploring soil and the many things that are inside it. We will also read and learn about fossils, and how they can give us clues to the past. (3SC12-13)
Upcoming Dates:
We will be having a Math quiz on Thursday. (A study guide was sent home on Tuesday of this week.) We will continue to work with the 5s counting pattern. We will also review what we have learned before about expanded form and place value. In addition, we will review some geometry words. (3MA1, 6, 13-14, 18, 26)
A Note about Spelling:
Since next week will be a short week, no Spelling homework will be given. We will resume that the following week. We will still be practicing how to spell Sitton words through activities at school.
